Paper/Presentation: Strengthening Efforts to Eliminate Corruption in Africa
Recognizing that corruption has been a serious obstacle toward the ends of establishing fair democracy and economic development in Africa, Agbazue seeks to “highlight the constellation of factors that make Africa such a fertile ground for corruption, such as historical, socio-economic and political dynamics.” In addition, Agbazue outlines the “institutional framework promoting transparency in Africa at international and pan-African levels.” Thirdly, he looks at what specific countries are doing to curb corruption, and, finally, he highlights “key tangible, practical and strategic leverage points for promoting transparency in Africa.”
