DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND GRANT WRITING INTERN:

The International Institute for Justice and Development (IIJD), Inc. seeks interns to assist with the IIJD Development Program and the Grant Writing activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General office administration
Translation from French to English and English to French.
Assist with the revision, expansion, and execution of the curriculum of the Development Program.
Contact and communicate with community-based organizations, international organizations, universities, etc.
Research, network, identify and contact prospective donors. Initiate and maintain on-going relationships with
potential donors in support of both the justice and development departments.
Assist in writing and editing high-quality grant proposals to governments, foundations and corporations, in
accordance with each grant-maker’s preferences and requirements, and maintain grants lists.
Assist in researching potential funding sources aligned with organizational priorities
Assist in organizing and managing data and files that track all grants and contributions and make them easily
  accessible to managers.
   
QUALIFICATIONS:
Background in international development, particularly in Africa.
Good organizational and writing skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Capacity to conduct research online.
Ability to perform light translations.
Familiar with Microsoft Office programs.
   
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Ability to perform light translations
Fluency in French preferred.
Understanding of contemporary Africa development issues.
Interest in Justice and Development issues.
Understanding of NGO environment.
